ETRIPAMIL (et ri PAM il) treats a fast or irregular heartbeat (arrhythmia). It works by decreasing your heart rate, which decreases the amount of work your heart has to do. It belongs to a group of medications called calcium channel blockers.
This medicine may be used for other purposes; ask your health care provider or pharmacist if you have questions.

This medication is for use in the nose. Take it as directed on the prescription label. Do not use it more often than directed. Make sure that you are using your nasal spray correctly. Do not test or prime before use. Ask your care team if you have any questions.
This medication comes with INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE. Ask your pharmacist for directions on how to use this medication. Read the information carefully. Talk to your pharmacist or care team if you have questions.
Talk to your care team about the use of this medication in children. Special care may be needed.
Overdosage: If you think you have taken too much of this medicine contact a poison control center or emergency room at once.

Visit your care team for regular health checks while on this medication. Call emergency services if your symptoms do not improve within 20 minutes after a second dose.
This medication may cause dizziness and fainting. Use it while sitting in a safe place where you will not fall. If you feel dizzy or lightheaded after taking it, lie down. Tell caregivers and close contacts that if you faint, they should place you on your back and seek medical help.
Do not breastfeed for 12 hours after using this medication.

Side effects that you should report to your care team as soon as possible:
-Allergic reactions—skin rash, itching, hives, swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat
Side effects that usually do not require medical attention (report these to your care team if they continue or are bothersome):
-Dryness or irritation inside the nose
-Feeling faint or lightheaded
-Irritation in the throat
-Nosebleed
-Runny or stuffy nose

Keep out of the reach of children and pets.
Store at room temperature between 20 and 25 degrees C (68 and 77 degrees F). Get rid of the device after you use it; each device contains only one dose. Get rid of any unused medication after the expiration date.
To get rid of any medications that are no longer needed or expired:
-Take the medication to a take-back program. Check with your pharmacy or law enforcement to find a location.
-If you cannot return the medication, ask your pharmacist or care team how to get rid of it safely.
