• Interaction: Grapefruit juice• Severity: Severe• Notes for Consumers: Do not take these agents together. Taking these agents together can increase the risk of a dangerous change in heartbeat or heart rhythm. These changes may result in chest pain, dizziness, fainting or falling spells, palpitations, shortness of breath, or a change in your heart beat (such as a fast or irregular heart beat).• Notes for Professionals: Avoid consumption of grapefruit or grapefruit juice with eliglustat. Grapefruit is a strong CYP3A inhibitor and eliglustat is a CYP3A substrate; consumption may increase exposure to eliglustat and increase the risk of serious adverse events (e.g., QT prolongation and cardiac arrhythmias).
