OSILODROSTAT (oh SIL oh DROE stat) treats Cushing syndrome, a condition that causes high levels of the hormone cortisol. Cortisol plays an important role in helping your body manage metabolism and respond to stress. Too much cortisol can cause weight gain, high blood pressure, diabetes, and bone loss. This medication works by decreasing levels of cortisol in the body.

    Notes for Consumers: Do not take Grapefruit juice or grapefruit-containing foods and Osilodrostat together without talking to your health care professional. Side effects may get worse if you drink Grapefruit juice or consume grapefruit-containing foods while taking Osilodrostat. Contact your health care provider if you experience nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, abdominal pain, dizziness, extreme tiredness, or other unusual effects.
    Notes for Professionals: Advise patients to avoid grapefruit juice or grapefruit-containing foods while taking osilodrostat; concurrent use may increase osilodrostat exposure and the risk of osilodrostat-related adverse reactions. Osilodrostat is a CYP3A4 substrate and grapefruit juice is a strong CYP3A4 inhibitor.
