• Interaction: Alcohol• Severity: Major• Notes for Consumers: Do not drink alcohol while taking this medication. Drinking alcohol while taking this medication increases the risk for serious side effects. Contact your care team if you experience new or worsening side effects.• Notes for Professionals: Advise patients to avoid alcohol and alcohol-containing products while taking nilutamide. Alcohol intolerance has been reported in about 5% of patients treated with nilutamide. Facial flushing, malaise, and hypotension may occur following ingestion of nilutamide with alcohol. The mechanism of this interaction is not known.
