Drinking alcohol while taking this medication can cause serious side effects, such as central nervous system (CNS) depression, and can increase the risk of falling. • Interaction: High Fat Foods• Severity: Mild• Notes for Consumers: You may take Metaxalone with or without food. Choose to always take with food or without food. You may have a slightly different response to the medicine. Do not drive or operate machinery until you know how the medicine affects you.• Notes for Professionals: Administering metaxolone with food may increase the risk of common drug-related side effects after administration and may result in a decreased duration of drug effect. Administration of metaxaolone with a high-fat meal increases the mean Cmax and AUC. Administer metaxolone on an empty stomach, 1 hour before or 2 hours after meals.
