FEXOFENADINE (fex oh FEN a deen) prevents and treats allergy symptoms, such as red, itchy eyes, sneezing, a runny or stuffy nose, or hives. It works by blocking histamine, a substance released by the body during an allergic reaction. It belongs to a group of medications called antihistamines.
This medicine may be used for other purposes; ask your health care provider or pharmacist if you have questions.

Take this medication by mouth with a full glass of water. Follow the directions on the prescription label. You may take this medication with food or on an empty stomach. Take your medication at regular intervals. Do not take it more often than directed. You may need to take this medication for several days before your symptoms improve.
Talk to your care team regarding the use of this medication in children. While this medication may be prescribed for children as young as 6 years old for selected conditions, precautions do apply.
Overdosage: If you think you have taken too much of this medicine contact a poison control center or emergency room at once.
NOTE: This medicine is only for you. Do not share this medicine with others.

-Antacids
-Erythromycin
-Grapefruit, apple, or orange juice
-Ketoconazole
-Magnesium-containing products

Visit your care team for regular checks on your health. Tell your care team if your symptoms do not start to get better or if they get worse.

If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you can. If it is almost time for your next dose, take only that dose. Do not take double or extra doses.

Side effects that you should report to your care team as soon as possible:
-Allergic reactions or angioedema—skin rash, itching or hives, swelling of the face, eyes, lips, tongue, arms, or legs, trouble swallowing or breathing
Side effects that usually do not require medical attention (report these to your care team if they continue or are bothersome):
-Cough
-Drowsiness
-Dry mouth
-Headache
-Upset stomach

Keep out of the reach of children and pets.
Store at room temperature between 20 and 25 degrees C (68 and 77degrees F). Protect from moisture. Throw away any unused medication after the expiration date.
