It belongs to a group of medications called antibiotics. It will not treat yeast infections or infections caused by viruses.

The effects of your medication may be altered if used with cannabis.• Notes for Professionals: Advise patients to avoid cannabis use during lidocaine treatment due to decreased exposure of lidocaine which may alter its efficacy. Cannabis use induces CYP1A2 and lidocaine is a CYP1A2 substrate. The induction potential of cannabis is greatest with chronic inhalation. Other routes of administration or sporadic use may have less of an effect.
