FLUORESCEIN; PROPARACAINE (floo RES ee in; proe PAR a kane) is used to help view the eye during a procedure. It works by making parts of the eye easier to view. It also prevents pain during the procedure. It numbs the area where it is applied, which blocks your nerves from sending pain signals to your brain. It is a combination of a dye and a local anesthetic.
