DICLOFENAC; MISOPROSTOL (dye KLOE fen ak; mye soe PROST ole) treats arthritis in people at risk of stomach ulcers from taking NSAID medications. Diclofenac works by decreasing pain and inflammation. Misoprostol works by reducing the amount of acid in the stomach and protecting the stomach lining from irritation. This medication is a combination of an NSAID and a prostaglandin.
