SACROSIDASE (sak ROE si dase) treats low sucrase levels in your body. It works by replacing an enzyme (sucrase) normally made by the body. Sucrase helps your body digest and absorb sucrose (sugar) from the food you eat.
This medicine may be used for other purposes; ask your health care provider or pharmacist if you have questions.

Take this medication by mouth. Take as directed on the prescription label. Each dose must be diluted with 2 to 4 ounces of water, milk, or infant formula. Use the specially marked measuring scoop that is provided with your medication. The beverage or infant formula should be served cold or at room temperature. Do not heat the solution, mix it with hot liquids, or mix or consume with acidic beverages such as fruit juice. This can cause your medication to not work properly. Take this medication with food. Take half of each dose at the start of the meal or snack and take the other half during the meal or snack. Do not take your medication more often than directed.
Talk to your care team about the use of this medication in children. While this medication may be prescribed for selected conditions, precautions do apply.
Overdosage: If you think you have taken too much of this medicine contact a poison control center or emergency room at once.

Visit your care team for regular checks on your progress. Tell your care team if your symptoms do not start to get better or if they get worse.

If you miss a dose before a meal, take it as soon as you finish your meal. If it is almost time for your next meal, take only one dose with that meal. Do not take double or extra doses.

Side effects that you should report to your care team as soon as possible:
-Allergic reactions—skin rash, itching, hives, swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat
Side effects that usually do not require medical attention (report to your care team if they continue or are bothersome):
-Anxiety, nervousness
-Constipation
-Diarrhea
-Headache
-Nausea
-Stomach pain
-Trouble sleeping
-Vomiting

Keep out of the reach of children and pets.
Store in refrigerator between 2 and 8 degrees C (36 and 46 degrees F). Discard 4 weeks after opening due to the potential for bacterial growth. Protect from heat and light. Get rid of any unused medication after the expiration date.
To get rid of medications that are no longer needed or have expired:
-Take the medications to a medication take-back program. Check with your pharmacy or law enforcement to find a location.
-If your cannot return the medication, check the label or package insert to see if the medication should be thrown out in the garbage or flushed down the toilet. If you are not sure, ask your care team. If it is safe to put it in the trash, take the medication out of the container. Mix the medication with cat litter, dirt, coffee grounds, or other unwanted substance. Seal the mixture in a bag or container. Put it in the trash.
